Itinerary

  • Day 1 Can Tho , My Tho

    SAI GON - MY THO - BEN TRE – CAN THO (L, D)

    • 07:30 am, our guide and car picks you up at hotel to start the Mekong Delta Tour from Sai Gon 3 Days (My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho – Ca Mau – Bac Lieu – Soc Trang)
    • 9:30am, upon arrival in My Tho City, Tien Gang province. Pay a visit to Vinh Trang pagoda. Built in 1849. Once you step into the pagoda's campus you will admire its extremely beautiful architecture and more than 60 precious Buddha statues that are all made of wood, bronze or terracotta.
    • After visiting the pagoda, embark on a motor boat to take a leisurely cruise on the Mekong River to Unicorn islet, one of four mythical animals in Southeast Asia: Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise, and Phoenix. From here, sip a cup of delicious honey tea with kumquat from the bee farm where thousands of honey bees are taking nectar from longan flowers, pomelo flowers to turn into honey. Then take a walk around tropical fruit gardens before heading back to the boat.
    • Next, enjoy the melody of “Don Ca Tai Tu” - a genre of traditional folk music which is an indispensable spiritual cultural activity in Mekong Delta people’s lives and officially recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity while tasting some tropical fruits. Meanwhile, you enjoy five types of fruits.
    • Troll through the small orchard to get a closer look at delta life on hand – rowed boat, go through the hidden maze of small water palm trees draped canals. You will fall in love with nature, peaceful life, and the friendliness of the locals.
    • Board the motorboat again, you will cross the river to Ben Tre province. Go on shore to visit a coconut candy workshop, learn how to make it and try sweet candies. This region is also famous for the production of coconut candies. Then, hop on a Lambro motor - tricycle for special lunch which was once the iconic vehicle and main means of transportation in South Vietnam (dating back to the 1960s) or ride on the horse cart as an option. Watch around peaceful villages and have a better understanding of the life of rustic people in Mekong Delta.
    • 12:00pm, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with many specialties.
    • After enjoying a delicious lunch, relax on hammocks or cycling around the village to see what local life is like.
    • 3:00pm, back on board, the motorboat will cruise back to the pier before transferring to Can Tho.
    • 5:00pm - 5:30pm, check-in hotel and stay overnight in Can Tho.

  • Day 2 Can Tho

    CAN THO - CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET – CA MAU (B, L, D)

    • After breakfast, around 7:15 am, we board a boat and travel to Cai Rang floating market.
    • This is the largest of its type in the whole Mekong delta. During this visit, you'll have a chance to board a merchant boat that sells pineapples which come from Can Tho City.
    • 11:45 am: Having lunch in Ca Mau.
    • 12:45 pm: Departing for Nam Can.
    • 14:00 pm: Arriving at Nam Can.
    • 15:15 pm: Arrive at the southernmost place of Vietnam on land – Ca Mau Cape is known as the end of the country and is always a Western tourist destination that must come once in life. The last province of Vietnam with three main sides bordering the sea. Here visitors will visit national landmarks, watch the forest, the sea, and admire the afternoon in the vast sea. Ca Mau exudes a poetic and lyrical beauty, peaceful and rustic, captivating the hearts of visitors.
    • Coming to Mui Cape. You will visit the National landmark, the iconic miniature of the boat full of wind, the ship of the country always facing the sea. Touch the landmark and take a picture next to the symbol of Ca Mau cape, you will be proud to stand on the last landmark of the country.
    • Have dinner at Nam Can district and be back in Ca Mau for overnight.

  • Day 3 Can Tho

    CA MAU – BAC LIEU – SOC TRANG – SAI GON (B, L)

    • Breakfast at the hotel. Departing for Bac Lieu, on the way visiting Tac Say church where Father Truong Buu Diep rested.
    • 09:30 am: Arriving in Bac Lieu, visitors visit Bac Lieu’s house – its owner’s name is Tran Trinh Huy (1900 - 1974), one of the richest and most flamboyant man in Southern Vietnam at the time. Referring to Bac Lieu, people immediately think of the homeland of Prince Bac Lieu – a famous dude who plays for a while
    • 10:15 am: We move to Soc Trang province, located just south of the Hau River. There is a cultural interference between the Chinese-Kinh-khmer peoples and the indigenous peoples. So Soc Trang has unique beliefs and customs.
    • Coming to Soc Trang, we visit Som Rong pagoda, it was built in 1785s with combines both traditional Khmer culture and modernity with a unique colour scheme, creating a charming highlight. This pagoda is currently one of the largest reclining Buddha statues in Vietnam. It is not only famous for the reclining Buddha statue that is 63m long, 22.5m high and weighs 490 tonnes but also for the decorated ancient and magnificent Khmer stupa with images of Nagar snakes.
    • Have lunch in Soc Trang.
    • Back to Saigon at around 07:00 pm, the tour ends. See you again.
